War Commander Troops

Foot soldiers are trained in the barracks, land vehicles are built in the war factory and air vehicles are built on the air field. To unlock new troops, or to upgrade them, you can visit the academy or the tech center. You are limited in the amount of troops you can have at the same time, although this can be expanded by upgrading the command center. The base unit capacity for the foot soldiers and the land vehicles are shared, while the air vehicles have their own base unit capacity. What’s important in deciding which troops to train, is making sure that you have a good balance of troops’ effectiveness. By going to the academy or tech center and selecting a troop, you can see which types of troops are effective against which enemy troops. For instance,if you’re going to face an enemy that has mostly ground troops, but no vehicles, bringing a rocket launcher troop is not a very effective strategy. Below you can see an overview of the strengths and weaknesses of the main troops of the game. More troops will be unlocked later on in the game.
War commander Troops – Rifleman:
speed:average Health:average range:average Damage:low this unit has almost no value in defending, unless they are in bunkers. However, they do a good job in attacking acting like cannon- and minefodders.
War commander Troops – Heavy gunner:
speed:low Health:high range:average Damage:high this is the best AA bunker unit in the game, and therefore it is also widely used for that purpose. With heavy gunners being the best anti-air unit that fits in a bunker,it is advised to use them so.
War commander Troops – Rocket launcher:
speed:low Health:low range:far Damage:average this is the best anti tank unit that fits in a bunker and many people use it that way. If you want your bunker to be an anti-ground defense too,it is advised to use rocket launchers for that purpose.
War commander Troops – Flame thrower:
speed:high Health:high range:close Damage:high flamethrowers are good for taking out rocket launchers, rocket buggies and razorbacks, because they all shoot rockets, which are just like the mortar tower, not very accurate on moving targets and due to the flamethrower’s speed, they will always miss it when approaching. Flamethrowers do a lot of damage(1266 on lvl 8), but do not survive tanks or air support,so it’s a risk you’re taking when using these units for defending.

War commander Troops – Jackrabbit:
speed:average Health:average range:average Damage:average The suicide bomber: this is a very good unit due to its very high damage. The only thing it has to do, is come close to the target, because its damage is enough to kill most tanks, except for the mega tank(11,000 health vs. 10,000 damage). The main tactic is to hide these man behind buildings in your base, or outside your base in the surroundings(behind trees or abandoned buildings). The key is to use them in such a way, you’re opponent will only notice them when it’s already too late.
War commander Troops – The Hercules:
this used to be the best AA unit in the game, but with the introduction of the Gatling truck,it’s slowly losing that status. But for all the players that didn’t get the Gatling truck, this will be their best AA unit for now.
War commander Troops – The Sniper:
this unit is a pure defensive unit. It is only effective against infantry, but it has a very long range. These characteristics combined, this unit is perfect for taking out minesweeping riflemen, and leaving your mines intact to finish off any tanks running over them. They can also kill riflemen that are mortar baiting(this is distracting mortar towers from tanks with riflemen running around in front of them), enabling your mortar tower to fire at the tanks again.
